Concealed Scissors during Felony Warrant Arrest

I was assisting another officer who heard a woman screaming for help under a bridge where transients are known to frequent. A male and female were contacted. Both were cooperative and provided their information. Investigation revealed that no crime occurred. The male placed his hands into his front pockets as he approached me.

No Vest Responding to Armed Robbery

Two males robbed a location with a shotgun and handgun. We found the two males in a neighborhood and initiated foot pursuit as they ran behind a house. I stopped because of a possible ambush and went back to the street.

Failure to Search Subject during Vehicle Search

After arresting a warrant subject from the driver’s seat, deputy 1 took the arrestee to a patrol car for search incident to arrest. Deputy 2 & 3 remained with the violator’s vehicle in order to remove passengers and search the vehicle.

Handcuffed Subject Discards Gun in Police Car

My partner and I responded for a “Suspicious Persons” call wherein the anonymous caller described two subjects selling heroin with one subject armed with a gun. Upon our arrival, we located the described subjects and placed them in handcuffs. Immediately after we handcuffed both subjects, relatives and friends exited the residence the subjects were in front of and became verbally hostile towards us.

Tasered Suspect Shoots and Kills Officer During Felony Warrant Service

Two officers observed a male felony warrant suspect walking along a downtown street in the nighttime hours. The suspect had a lengthy criminal history, which included prior assaults on police officers. As the officers attempted to effect the arrest, the suspect refused to comply with the officers’ commands to show his hands.

Subject Pulls Gun During Warrant Service in Motel Parking Lot

During an attempt to serve an arrest warrant at a residential motel, two plain-clothes officers attempted contact of the person named in the warrant at a motel room. The officers were walking through the motel parking lot when a car containing two men drove by them and parked. The passenger fit the description of the person named in the warrant. Both officers approached the passenger side of the car as it was parking.

Unsafe Arrest Tactics after Noise Complaint

In the nighttime hours, an officer was dispatched to a house for a complaint of loud music. (This particular house, known to be a stripper’s house, had a history of noise complaints). When the officer knocks on the door of the house, a repeat offender opens the door and begins cussing at the officer.

Transfer of Unsearched Suspect between Agencies Leads to Suspect’s Suicide

A suspect was arrested after a foot chase and shooting a Deputy. He was arrested by a different agency and handed off to the investigating agency. During the transfer, officers on the scene failed to notify officers from the investigating agency that the suspect had not been properly searched.

Drug Task Force Raid Encounters Armed Subject Under Blanket

Drug Task Force detectives were in a stack outside a residence, ready to ram the door and enter the premises. I was first in the stack with the ram. As I passed by the window next to the door, I looked in the front window and saw a person on the sofa. As I hit the door and got out of the way for the team to enter, I simultaneously yelled there was a person on the sofa.

Missed Gun on Seat during Routine Traffic Stop

Routine traffic stop—I asked the driver for his license, registration, and insurance and returned to my patrol car. Upon running the driver’s license, dispatch advised me of warrants for the subject. I requested backup and waited for another officer to arrive.
