Suspect Opens Fire on Officers Serving Arrest Warrant

Police received an anonymous tip that a suspect wanted for attempted murder (he allegedly shot a female) was inside of a motel-style apartment. Officers from two agencies met and formed a perimeter around the apartment, which was located on the ground floor. Officers contacted a female subject sitting outside of the apartment and asked her if the suspect was inside.

At 0445, one of my patrol officers was on patrol in a supermarket parking lot and noticed a vehicle backed up near one of the doors with a subject inside the vehicle screaming and acting very agitated. The officer called it into dispatch, and I responded to the call.

Averted Ambush during Bizarre Welfare Check

During third shift, our dispatch center received a 911 call from an unknown male subject asking that an officer be sent to shoot and kill him. When asked for an address and more information, the subject repeatedly demanded the request in an agitated and more expletive manner. A final request for more information and location resulted in him screaming “I’m coming to get you!” and hanging up.

The subject was sitting in the back of a car parked on the side of the road in a residential area.
