An off-duty officer was working a security detail with loss prevention at a department store. The off-duty officer radioed for assistance in reference to a subject that was using a small pocket knife to open items and conceal them while inside of the store.
A patrol officer observed two men in a parked vehicle engaging in behavior consistent with a drug transaction. When additional officers arrived, the officers blocked the suspect’s vehicle and contacted the driver and passenger. As officers approached, they observed the suspects attempting to rub a white powdery substance into the carpet on the floor of the vehicle.
Two deputies were dispatched to a gas station for an employee who was reportedly behaving erratically and refusing to leave the property. The station manager also stated that the employee was armed with what appeared to be a BB gun.
Officers responded to a family fight. The investigation found the male subject was intoxicated and upset. During the fight, he had grabbed a shotgun inside the residence and told his girlfriend he was going to commit suicide. She was able to get the gun away from him prior to police arrival. Officers took the male subject into custody without incident and charged him with two felony weapons charges and three DV related charges.
An officer initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle for an observed traffic violation. The officer followed procedure and notified dispatch of his location and provided a description of the vehicle. The officer was unable to provide the dispatcher with a license plate number, but he reported that the plate was likely issued by the state of Ohio.
Two officers were responding to a violent assault call for service. The lead officer was passing through an intersection against a red light and failed to clear the intersection.
A deputy observed a male sleeping in a truck parked at a Transit Park and Ride lot. The deputy recognized the male as a felony warrant suspect and requested a second unit to come to his location. The deputy did not wait for backup, however, and opened the driver’s side door of the truck to take the male into custody.
Two officers from a local police department attempted to serve an arrest warrant on a known felon. As the officers made contact, the suspect and the suspect’s girlfriend assaulted the officers. The officers called for backup and fought with the two subjects.
While directing traffic at a sporting event, officers observed a fight breaking out across a busy 5-lane road. Instinct kicked in to get to the fight and stop it. The two officers ran across the street through traffic.
Patrol officers responded to a call for service at an apartment complex to check a disorderly subject. Upon arrival, the subject was disorderly, and when officers attempted to arrest him, he became combative. Officers had to use a Taser to control him and take him into custody. The suspect was determined to be under the influence of PCP.
