I was assisting another officer who heard a woman screaming for help under a bridge where transients are known to frequent. A male and female were contacted. Both were cooperative and provided their information. Investigation revealed that no crime occurred. The male placed his hands into his front pockets as he approached me.
A search warrant was being served on a suspect in a conspiracy investigation involving the trafficking of illegal drugs. During this investigation, the subject’s residence was located along with his vehicle in a large apartment complex.
I made a traffic stop of a local resident and determined subject had an active warrant for his arrest. While attempting to make the arrest, I was so zoned in on the subject, I placed myself with my back to the highway.
The scenario was set up to keep operators in their line of fire and rely on other operators to do their jobs. My thought was that it would be a situation that would train the subject matter that I wanted trained.
Officers observed a subject wanted on a warrant run into a house. The officers responded to a back alley and located the subject running through the backyard. While giving the suspect verbal commands, the suspect reached into his waistband and pulled out a small chrome object with a handle and trigger, resembling a small firearm.
Deputies responded to a known drug house. At the house, deputies contacted a known female and arrested her on outstanding arrest warrants. The female is not a CI, but she has given prior credible information that has led to the arrests of other criminals. On this occasion, she again wanted to give info…
Two males robbed a location with a shotgun and handgun. We found the two males in a neighborhood and initiated foot pursuit as they ran behind a house. I stopped because of a possible ambush and went back to the street.
I was directing traffic around a crash scene. An ambulance was partially blocking the travel lane. I did not have a traffic vest on and I was in a dark uniform. It was dark out and it was snowing.
Two detectives were in the process of securing evidence in a narcotics case. As one of the detectives was handling a bag of suspected narcotics, he grabbed the bag and, out of habit, forced some of the air out of the bag to obtain a good seal.
At approximately 1430, I went to [Housing Module A] to look at the telephone access for segregation inmates. While standing in front of the law library room, [Inmate 1] stated the cable for the printer was missing. I entered the Law Library room and inspected the printer and computer to verify the cable was gone.
